Oh yay, another uppity Medicaid person.
Usually I get a few bitches a month about my Clomid + Medicaid rant. About every other one is written by a complete idiot. You make the call as to which one this is.
Are you stupid? Welfare and Medicaid are NOT the same. We're not bums. WQe work. Medicaid is to help those who cant afford the high costs of insurance. So you're saying someione who is dissabled and on ssi or welfare or medicaid is a bum?? Get your facts straight dummy. And you shouldnt be a pharmacist.
Oh yay! Where should I start:
or medicaid") should not be entitled to fertility drugs. So am I mean for making a legit point? Or are you just an idiot for wanting to bring children into this world that you self-proclaim you cannot afford.
I'm not against having children (unless you're 14, more on that later), just not while you require society's dime to survive. I guess common sense like that is why I'm a pharmacist and you aren't.

I think it's not entirely the fault of people on Medicaid (I WILL NOT excuse them of all blame, don't get me wrong!), but rather the medicaid officve themselves sometimes. They tell the recipient "This is your little gray card, it will buy you anything. It's the only card you need. Period." Which obviously isnt the case, since They could: a) get their m-caid service cancelled; b) be forwarded to a TP proccessor for their RX's (meaning they DO have another card); c) need the ever-infamous prior auth. This of course makes the recipient angry, since what we tell them contradicts what they hear from their social worker. But since they have the cash to drive around in escalades talking on their gps-phones, I don't see how things like denied claims should really upset them so much.
And dammit, it should be illegal to have children while on medicaid. A freakin felony, punishable by mailing the child to Uzbekistan. And revokation of medicaid status.
Oh my God! That was hilarious and SO DAMN TRUE! I love the comeback about 'that's why I'm a pharmacist and you're not!' LOL!!! I am so fed up with these people (and don't forget illegal aliens that are sucking off the teet of the U.S. tax-paying citizens with ER visits for running noses!) But that's a whole 'nother rant. Though it sounds quite like a dictatorship or 'big-brotherish', it is so true, that if you need to be on Medicaid/SSI to survive and require the hard-earned tax dollars of every legal U.S. Citizen, you should NOT get a say in having a child! That's just utter stupidity...but that kind of backward thinking is almost certainly the reason why they're on 'welfare' to begin with!
It is an unfortunate trend that more lower intelligence-people are popping out kids that higher-intelligence people. It's just like that movie.... Idiocracy!
Hey, Angry, get in touch with me sometime via email, you sound like the kind of person I'd get along real good with!
We get a ton of people coming in on medicaid and the majority of the time all the kids have different last names, it should be implemented that the state and/or federal government will only pay for the first one and not say okay you had another one we'll just give you more money to live off of. Also I don't know if you have noticed it or not, but people today are waiting till after they have kids to get married, why not, if the mother doesn't have a full time job all the prenatal stuff she needs is paid for and its cheaper on them to have a kid and then get married, i am seeing this more and more and it saddens me that our society is making this acceptable. Years ago you had to get married if you got pregnant now its no big deal. Just a thought.
Good comeback, Mr. Angry.
My favorite is when the Welfare people call their third party payor INSURANCE.
HAHAHA!!!!....whatever...
Oh, Jesus, you say the things I've wanted to say for so long and not get fired for saying it. What the hell is wrong with society that we can't all say what needs to be said? That's why I love watching Judge Judy. She tells the bums to get a frickin' job to support their kids, too. Go Angry Pharmacist!!
That's all we need is another idiot who likes to spend our money! Atleast if your going to take the money from the working class, Make sure your children are clean!
Dear Angry Pharmacist,
You're the best. I always agree with your views (and no, I'm not being facetious)! You are the voice of reason. As for Medicaid - these douchebags can't even afford to pay for themselves - there's no way we should be supplying them with fertility drugs. Cyanide, yes. Clomid, no. This subject makes me want to clomid someone in the fucking head.
Every week when I get my paycheck, it fucking pisses me off. Not because I should be paid more (well, that too), but because at least $100 is basically stolen from me for fucking Medicaid. I have no problem with supplying health care to the disabled or elderly - it's the "low-income parents" part that pisses me off. If you are "low-income", keep your fucking cock in your pants (or plug your twat if you're a chick) and DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING KIDS! If you can't even support yourself, why the fuck should I have to not only pay for YOU but for your 10 illegitimate, low-income children as well?!
Rock on, Angry Pharmacist - Rock on.
What about students of professional schools financing their big-ass families with welfare? Having 3,4,5 kids while in med school??? KNOWING they will not make a dime for MANY years. Those are the most entitled people I've come across with their little cards.
Dear Angry:
Have you ever had this situation? {I have several times}...Medicaid patient walks in and before they even step into your store you hear them SCREAMING...The Pharmacist in this store is such an asshole, he/she sucks, the service sucks here...I don't know why I ever come here...fuck them and the mothers that bore them....Only to find out that they are not in your computor, they have never been to your store before, you have never ever even seen them before....and the only reason they are going to your store is because they've been kicked out of every other pharmacy in your town???---Personally I kick their asses to the curb. We, as pharmacists, should never take abuse, we need to be selective of who we wait on,,,,I never allow a low-life to swear at me...
To respond to MikeyB's comments... I'd go a giant step forward with that comment about the cock/twat-in-pants deal. You're never gonna stop that... I'm not saying that low-income people shouldn't be enjoying sex, they should just have the wiring disconnected so no little babies come out of it!
TO: All
RE: Medicaid, Welfare, Insurance & Medicine (in General)
Actually, these days, they all seem to be related. I say this as the end result is that whatever money you may have ends up somewhere in the medical industry, when it comes time for you to pass beyond the proverbial 'vail'.
I've seen insurance. I've seen Medicaid. I've seen medicine.
All they are, today, is just a clever scheme to devoid people of their money.
Yeah....they all point fingers at each other, but the fact of the matter remains, they are all in cahoots. The end objective is to divest people of their money at their end-of-life phase.
Seriously.
Does a quart of water with a goodly dash of salt and a pinch of other items in a plastic bag REALLY cost over $200? That's what my local hospital wanted for a liter of physiological saline solution.
Sheesh!
I remember the ruckus raised over the US Air Force paying several hundred dollars for a hammer, back in the early 80s.
At least the Air Force got to use the hammer more than ONCE!
Think about it.....
Regards,
Chuck(le)
This is great. Medicaid is crushing the hospitals.
You da man! Tell it like it is brotha.
Well, you're an idiot. Arguing that society shouldn't subsidize the birthing and raising of children is an argument for social suicide (cf. Russia, Italy and Japan if you think this isn't a modern issue). What would be MORE important to subsidize, among all the things we do, than raising the next generation? Are you saying it makes sense to subsidize investment in real estate over other investments, retiring before you've saved enough to live on, and not raising certain crops to keep the price high -- all of which we presently do -- but NOT to subsidize raising children? 'Cause all those other things are vital to the future of the Republic but children are just a quaint hobby indulged in by some? Like taking up skiing?
Or perhaps you're just saying that the best children are produced by the wealthiest people? That one doesn't even deserve comment.
Or perhaps you're saying you imagine the major cost of having and raising a child is the fertility drugs you use to start one? Better hope you don't keep the pharmacy's books, then.
Nothing wrong with being angry. But being angry and myopic is pathetic.
Did anyone see the news the other day? Apparently, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has come up with a program that pays low-income parents for "good behavior." This lady was talking about how she got $200 for taking her child to the doctor. Then they showed her saying something about how it was good to have an incentive to do to do it. I have just 3 words for that - WHAT THE FUCK?! How about being a RESPONSIBLE member of society like the rest of us. How about getting a job. And one last thing, the incentive to take your kid to the doctor should be TO KEEP THEM HEALTHY, NOT TO GET MONEY. It is already "free" because of welfare, now we have to pay you use our tax money? Un-freakin-believable!!!

I LOVE THIS!! I'm going to share your site with all my cohorts! I'm so thankful my husband found your link, I am LMAO at how stupid the general population is. We have people calling their Medicaid, "I'm on the "state" plan." Last time I checked, in the state of SC, the state plan was for gov't workers on BCBS!!! I can't wait to read more of your blog!!!
And don't get me started on the people who encourage their kids to misbehave in school so they can get SSI for them, or the people who can get SSI for a primary diagnosis of alcoholism or drug abuse.
Those people are a shoo-in for SSI, while people with real disabilities, those they didn't do to themselves (I know drug addiction is a disease, but IMHO it DOES NOT justify SSI payments!) must fight and struggle to get what they deserve. And it makes things harder for people who really do have ADD/ADHD.
About the kids having different last names: If the mother is white, the kids are almost always biracial. I'm not a racist; I'm just telling it like it is. At least that's the way it is here in the Midwest. And it's not like the parents were ever married or anything, either. You never see these women with any men, of any race, and yet they keep popping the mixed-race babies left and right.
I have no problem with people receiving benefits like this if they are working and/or fell on hard times. That's what they're for. But those who spend more time trying to screw over the system than you or I spend working a legitimate job? Those, I have a problem with.
A message to Chuck...if he comes back to see it....
That IV bag you talk about.... What happens to that bag AFTER it's run into your arm? Where does that plastic go? Do you have any idea what kind of regulatory nightmare there is for a hospital to get rid of this type of stuff? Plug that into the cost of the fluid. And oh, I can put water and salt into a glad bag and run it into your arm, but expect to die in a couple of days secondary to complications from a serious infection. Those IVs have to be prepared in very strict clean room environments that cost LOTS of money to keep running. And the 'pre-mades', they come from companies that are regulated by government agencies for GMP and this costs serious flippin money.. All to make sure they don't get sued after you get an line infection or die from a contaminant, pyrogen, bug, or particulate in the solution.... So that's where the money is coming from to turn a $0.50 cent IV bag into a $200 dollar deal....
You're sounding like Dr. Laura (what wife listens to on the treadmill). The political-correctness climate in US has eliminated values, responsibility, and, in a way, choice (funny, that, from the 'Pro Choice' movement). Think about it, to choose I need to assign a value to two situations or outcomes and choose the one that I deem best fit. I am discriminating against the choice or outcome that is not desirable. But, how can I choose anything when society has withheld any values from me? You can't.
BTW, what are the chances that the 14 year-old 'mother' in your other post made the *only* RIGHT choice and gave her kid up for adoption? [you can stop laughing, it aint funny]
You're not angry, you just have enough morals and values to know what is right and what is wrong. And *that* wouldn't be "political" if the Democrats hadn't abandoned all their morals and values trying to kiss up to certain minority groups.
P.S. Give her a listen during your launch break, she's on many stations - www.drlaura.com
What the Medicaid office says:
"This insurance card is only good for the medicines, treatments, and procedures listed in the brochure, for yourself and the dependents you filed for. Any others, especially ones that are unnecessary for basic survival, are not covered."
What the Medicaid recipient hears:
"OMG YOU WON THE VICTIMHOOD LOTTERY! You can get all the breast implants, fertility drugs, and crystal meth ingredients you and your entire extended family could want, and Medicaid will pay for it all! YOU RULE TEH GHETTO!"
I totally agree!! It really angers me when a Medicaid patient comes in and a medication is not covered they won't get it...but it seems they have the money to get their hair and nails done. STOP spending "our" money on non-important luxuries then maybe you could afford your medication!!
Worst one I encountered personally was when someone walked into the store back in '01 or so (I was working at that time in a chain store in the inner city) and asked if they could get an air conditioner on her Medicaid card. She needed it for "health reasons". Uhm, no, I don't think so...
You are one of my worst nightmares as a pharmacist. I ahve a 2 year old that was just recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and my world is upside down. Even with my health insurance and rx coverage, her monthly copays are enough to put a middle income family in a pinch. Thankfully, the state of PA and the federal medicaid program offer assistance on our copays. Then, I go to the pharmacy to get her supplies and I have an arrogant jerk like you telling me I shouldn't get her pen needles filled "early" (at 75% use that I am allowed to get it filled at) and who makes me have all my rx numbers in front of me when I call in because he is too lazy to look them up. My husband and I work full time and don't ask much from anyone, in fact we never asked for the medical assistance, it was offered to us by hospital staff, but it's a pharmacist like you that looks down his nose at me and makes life difficult for me to make sure my daughter is taken care of. As if life is not hard enough when you have to give your 2 year old 6 shots a day and worry all night about her blood sugar going low. I hope nothing ever goes wrong for your children because god help them if it does.
I think "Amy" missed the point of the medicaid issue. I think she should also realize that being a bitch toward the pharmacist who "won't" fill her rx early, actually "CAN'T" because insurance or medicaid won't allow the early refill to suit her convenience. Or if you really need it earlier just pay the cash price and shut your hole. Wassamatta, can't wait 'til tomorrow or the next day or the whole week, when it is truly time to refill. Don't worry, blame the pharmacist. I'm sure that the pharmacy had a good chuckle at your expense when they shared the story about refusing to give you a refill a little early. Ignorant bitch. By the way, are you the stupid idiot who strolls up to the counter and thinks it is not your responsibility to know what medications you need refilled? Maybe someone on our payroll should call your house to remind you each time a dose is due too.
I know every Rx that needs refilled and the insurance was not who had the problem with the RX being filled early. When I called the insurance, they said it was ready for refill the asshole pharmacist took it upon himself to tell me that I should not get it refilled, so as a matter of fact, I paid for it myself. My kid is the number 1 priority here. I am telling you not to lump all Medicaid recipients together. There are some people who truly need it because of extreme circumstances. I would never expect a phamrmacist or any other healthcare provider for that matter to know what my daughter needs. They are the same people who would not test her when I told them she needed checked for diabetes. My best friend is a pharmacist in a town an hour away from me and I know how she treats her customers and it is not like this pharmacist treats me.
Amy, no pharmacist is telling you you can't fill your needles early. It looks like the state just won't pay for that early refill. I'm sure there won't be any question asked, if you're willing to pay for it out of pocket.
AMY I AM AN AUTO TECH AND MY WIFE IS A SCHOOL TEACHER. WE HAVE A CHILD THAT HAS SKIN PROBS AS WELL AS ALLERGIES TO EGGS,MILK,NUTS,PEANUTS AND FISH. HIS MEDICINE IS OVER 1500.00 A MONTH SO YOU KNOW WHAT I DID? I GOT A PART TIME JOB NOT HOLD MY HAND OUT. AND THE REASON I HAD TO GET A PART TIME JOB IS BECAUSE I HAD TO PAY FOR MY KIDS MEDICATION AND YOURS... KEEP YOUR HOLE CLOSED AND GET A REAL JOB....
First of all I don't see a Problem with Amy Like she said she and her Husband both work full time jobs, so actually they deserve alittle help beings THEY PAY FOR IT IN THEIR TAXES jerk off!
I don't see a problem with people who work and get a little help. I think first you need to bitch about the illegal imigrants that are taking our jobs wich is causing people to turn to the welfare! Also "who are you to judge the life I live I know I'm not perfect and don't live to be , but before you go pointing your finger make sure your Hands are clean!"-bob Marley
God bless all of you angry people because God would want us helping each other, and Judge all you want because your judgement day will come and what will God do with you?
